One of my noteworthy skills is the ability to build collaborations from scratch and nurture creative, motivated and productive teams: I am a catalyst for the creative endeavours of colleagues from disparate disciplines. I am an instigator of fruitful networks of collaboration with more than 40 leading researchers and industrial partners worldwide. I rise to challenging problems, and support the people around me. My teams are characterised by enthusiasm, integrity, high ethical standards and high achievement. 

I feel strong commitment to the institutions with which I have worked. All this is evinced in a diverse portfolio of research management and administration duties in grant applications, coordination and review, project management, director of master programmes and PhD manager, research students’ supervision, staff mentoring and recruitment, consultancy work, membership and foundation of international committees and associations, advisory work for government agencies, editorial work and conference organisation. I have also been member of a substantial number of international conference programme committees.

I have a proven championship in equality, diversity and inclusion, and track record as a keen supporter of under-represented and disadvantaged communities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics with an impact in the wider community. I inspire people to fulfill their full potential and have extensive public engagement and outreach experience, and high profile appearances in the British, French, Mexican and Spanish press, radio and TV.
